The Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series spec-built Ferrari 458 Italia finished its second day of testing in Daytona on Wednesday.

Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale plans to campaign two cars in the 50th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona next season. According to team principal Ronnie Vogel, the team is ironing out details on the driver lineup.

"Today was a tremendous improvement over yesterday," said Vogel. "We've got good feelings about the car, and the drivers were very comfortable out there. We had a great time, and now we're really looking forward to the 50th Rolex 24 at Daytona."

Drivers Jaime Melo, Raphael Matos and Guy Cosmo were on hand to shakedown the 458 during the two-day test.

"This has been an awesome experience, and I feel honored to be part of this test," said Matos.

While Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale was the lone tester, multiple team owners were present to observe the event. One was Steve Hallam, Michael Waltrip Racing's executive vice president for competition.

Four to six Ferrari 458 Italias are expected to compete in the 50th Rolex 24 at Daytona, which takes place Jan. 28-29, 2012.
